Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics started its journey with UG General course in the academic year 1995-1996. Honours course was introduced in the academic year 2007-2008. Since then, it is serving students from Chanchal town and its adjacent rural and semi-urban areas. Apart from the traditional chalk and talk method the faculties extensively apply ICT method in the classroom. In terms of success rate of the students, the department’s results, especially in the Honours course, are not only encouraging but also impressive. The department has its own computer laboratory and students are supported by ever helpful faculties.

Curriculum is based on the syllabi framed by The University of Gour Banga.

At present B.Sc. Major and Minor courses are offered in semester-I by the department as Per National Education Policy (NEP)-2020. Also B.Sc. Honours and General courses in Semester-III and Semester-V is going on in CBCS syllabus.

Academic session is from July to June and the academic calendar is guided by the affiliating university.
